Job summary

Workdry International Ltd. is seeking a Mobile Fitter for our Leeds branch to cover the surrounding region. You will perform diesel engine repairs, diagnostics and pump maintenance on customer sites and in the workshop.

The role includes a call-out rota with standby allowance and excellent overtime, reflecting the field's demanding workload and team support. A strong mechanical background and a willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

  • NVQ level 3 in Mechanical engineering (or equivalent) or related work experience.
  • Experience with diesel engines or mechanical engineering background.
  • Experience on site with customers and in a workshop is beneficial.
  • Ability to listen, translate information into practical solutions.
  • Willingness to train and develop skills within the role.
  • Full UK driving license (6 points or less).

Responsibilities

  • Carry out repairs to diesel engine equipment as directed, including fault finding.
  • Regular servicing of pump rental fleet on client sites.
  • Operate safely, adhering to PPE requirements.
  • Communicate clearly with colleagues and customers.
  • Obtain site sign-offs to process tasks efficiently.
  • Maintain clean work areas and vehicles.
  • Complete daily vehicle defect reports for safety.
  • Follow training instructions and company policies.
  • Support ongoing learning and career development.

About The Role

We are looking for a Mobile Fitter to join the fantastic team at our Leeds branch, covering the surrounding region. This role will be responsible for carrying out diesel engine repairs, diagnostics and pump maintenance on customers sites and in the branch workshop.

Due to the nature of our branch operations this role will involve being part of a call out rota, which has a standby allowance plus excellent overtime payment.

Responsibilities
  • You will be thoroughly carrying out any repairs to the diesel engine equipment as needed / directed, including any fault finding and diagnostic / investigative work where required on customer sites.
  • Conduct regular servicing on pump rental fleet equipment as needed and directed on customer sites.
  • Work safely as a priority and have knowledge of PPE requirements.
  • Communicate accurately with work colleagues and customers alike.
  • Obtain signatures and names from sites to ensure smooth processing of tasks.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping ensuring work areas and vehicles are kept in good order and clean.
  • Complete daily vehicle defect reports to ensure safety.
  • Carry out all given tasks as set out by instructions or relevant training within a timely manner.
  • Show understanding of company policies and procedures.
Skills And Experience

  • NVQ level 3 in Mechanical engineering (or other relevant qualifications) or equivalent work experience.
  • Previous demonstratable experience of working with engines or a mechanical engineering background, with the ability to understand underlying issues and how to resolve them.
  • Experience of working in a plant environment, on site with customers and in a workshop would be beneficial.
  • Ability to listen, take on board information, and translate it into practical solutions.
  • Demonstrate willingness to grow within the role, be open to training opportunities, learn new skills, and be committed to developing upon the knowledge you already have.
  • Full UK driving license (with 6 points or less), as this role will involve attending site visits and breakdowns.
