Job summary

A leading global provider of facilities management in the UK is seeking a Mobile Multi Skilled Engineer for their team. The role involves performing electrical and mechanical maintenance on plant equipment and ensuring machinery performance. Successful candidates will have strong electrical and mechanical qualifications and be skilled in working with heavy industrial machines. This position offers a fast-paced, technical environment where your contributions will directly enhance safety and performance in critical areas.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in manufacturing maintenance.
  • Experience with 3-phase motors, drives, inverters.
  • Ability to conduct fault finding and preventative maintenance.

  • Identify and manage risks, update technical drawings.
  • Provide technical support on heavy industrial machines.

Skills

Electrical qualifications (City & Guilds 236 Pt 1-2-3, 18th Edition or equivalent)
Mechanical qualifications (City & Guilds or equivalent)
Experience with 3-phase motors
Hydraulic and pneumatic systems expertise
PLC diagnostics and repair skills
Ability to write risk assessments
Contractor supervision experience

Education

Recognised or time-served apprenticeship
NVQ Level 2 in Electrical and Mechanical disciplines
Job description
Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on plant equipment and building services.
  • Identify and manage risks, update technical drawings, and improve machinery performance.
  • Conduct fault finding and preventative maintenance on various types of machinery.
  • Provide technical support on heavy industrial machines and overhead cranes.
  • Work with three-phase systems (up to 440V), motors, gearboxes, valves, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
  • Use mobile devices and CAFM systems to manage and complete maintenance tasks.
  • Liaise with site services to resolve building-related issues.
  • Deputise for the Shift Leader during absences and support departmental health and safety initiatives.
  • Be available for overtime, including nights and weekends, as required.
