Job summary

City Facilities Management Ltd. is seeking a Mobile Maintenance Electrician (AST) for a West Midlands mobile role with a van provided. This permanent position is 40 hours per week, covering planned and reactive maintenance across multiple sites and serving as the first line for all maintenance issues.

Training is provided for catering and bakery equipment, with a focus on electrical and mechanical repairs, compliant paperwork, and health and safety standards. A 1 in 4 standby rota applies.

Qualifications

NVQ Level 3/City and guilds 236 Part 1 + 2 (essential).
City and Guilds 18th Edition (essential).
AM2 / 2391 (essential).
£1,500 competency payment after training during probation.

Responsibilities

Prioritise maintenance and repair work to meet timescales and complete PPMs and reactive tasks.
Complete the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule within agreed timescales.
Respond to Helpdesk requests and assess the job requirements to carry out repairs.
Identify non-repairable faults and advise on replacements.
Advise onsite managers of issues affecting site operations.
Carry out surveys and prepare reports for City management.
Maintain quality standards with staff and customers.
Carry out minor alterations and installations within technical competence.
Complete repairs on catering and bakery assets.
Comply with BER policy for catering and bakery assets.
Perform general repairs at customer sites as designated.
Represent the company professionally and maintain relationships.
Monitor and update the Mercury system with live job updates.

Job Title: Mobile Maintenance Electrician (AST)

Salary: £41,325 Total Salary (Inclusive of Standby (1:4 x 13 Periods) & Competency Payement*)

An exciting opportunity has emerged for an experienced Mobile Maintenance Electrician (AST) to join our company to work with one of our major UK supermarket clients.

This is a key position, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a number of site locations. You will be the first line in all maintenance issues throughout your allocated sites.

This role also provides reactive and planned maintenance to food services and catering equipment for which training is provided, specialist attendance again may be required following initial callout.

The purpose of this role is to carry out technical repairs and PPM's. You will ensure that all technical and compliance paperwork is completed and up to date at all times. All work will be completed to the highest standards in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with all Health and Safety legislation.

Key Responsibilities

Prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times. Complete all necessary PPM's and reactive maintenance schedules within agreed timescales and to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and as required.
Complete the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule within agreed timescales and to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.
Respond promptly and positively to service call requests from the Helpdesk and to assess the requirements of the job and carry out repairs as and where necessary.
Identify nonrepairable faults in plant and machinery and promptly advise the Line Manager of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable replacement.
Advise the onsite customer (manager) of any repair and maintenance issues that are likely to affect the smooth running of the site.
Carry out surveys and complete reports as required by City management.
Work with company and customer employees to ensure laiddown standards of quality are maintained at all times.
Carry out minor alterations and installations within the individual's technical competence in accordance with current specifications.
Complete general repairs and maintenance on trained Food Services assets (catering and bakery equipment).
Comply with the BER policy and guidelines on managing catering and bakery assets.
Complete general repairs and maintenance to customer sites as designated by City management.
Represent the company in a professional manner at all times and develop a good working relationship with City and customer employees.
Monitor and update the Mercury system including live job updates.

To undertake any other reasonable duties and/or responsibilities as may be required.
You will be part of a 1 in 4 standby oncall rota.

Qualifications / Experience

NVQ Level 3/City and guilds 236 Part 1 + 2 or equivalent in electrical Installation / Maintenance. (essential)

AM2 / 2391 (essential)
An additional £1,500 competency payment will be added to the basic salary upon completion of electrical fault training for catering and bakery equipment. The training, provided by the employer during the probation period, includes two one-week training blocks.

The ideal candidate

Full driving license.
Experience using a PDA system.
Ability to maintain and repair a wide range of electrical and mechanical equipment, e.g. commercial catering/bakery.
Carried out PPM and reactive maintenance within a similar retail environment.
