A leading healthcare service provider in Maryport is seeking a Mobile Home Care Worker to provide person-centred care and support to service users. The role involves traveling to homes, assisting with daily living tasks, and maintaining the dignity and independence of clients. Candidates must hold a full UK driving license and a car. This position offers part-time and full-time flexible shifts with a competitive pay rate of £13 per hour.

In general, you will travel to the residences of the service users in your care round and, at each visit, support them with the tasks as agreed with the service user in their Care and Support Plan. Your role will help maintaining, and wherever possible improving, the health, well-being and quality of life of our service users, supporting their physical, emotional, cultural and social needs in a person-centred way.
You will support service users to exercise choice in their daily lives, encourage them to remain as independent and socially active as possible, and provide dignified, respectful support.
You will build positive professional relationships with service users, their friends, family, main carers, advocates and other stakeholders, and work as part of a multi-agency team that will include other health professions. You must adhere to all regulatory and statutory obligations on CEL Homecare as detailed in our policies, procedures and working practices, and work with, and actively support, other Mobile Home Care Workers in your local team.

We provide personal care and domestic support to a range of service users with different needs, illnesses and disabilities. You will understand each service user’s needs and hoped-for outcomes and provide help using a person-centred approach and in the least intrusive manner. Tasks may include:
As a CEL Homecare representative, you must dress appropriately, wear the correct uniform and use the PPE provided. You should be committed to life-long learning and help identify best practices and innovative ways to improve the quality of care we deliver. You will be expected to attend and participate in regular staff group meetings, supervision and appraisal sessions, and any residence-based monitoring or external inspections.
You will also be required to complete in-house and external training (mandatory or beneficial) as requested by our Registered Manager.
You will use our Care Management APP to log in and out of care calls to ensure missed calls do not occur, and you must observe all relevant policies, procedures and health and safety requirements, including risk assessments and related guidance.
Maintain a detailed log (every visit) of the care and support provided, including daily intervention sheets, medication records (paper or digital) or any charts required by the Care and Support Plan. Always read the Care and Support Plan and any linked risk assessments and guidance to understand the required support tasks, acknowledge the service user’s personal needs and choices, and recognise any changes to the support or outcomes.
Report to care managers (Registered Manager or Out-of-Hours Duty Manager) any concerns with the health and well-being of service users, issues with the support received, and ensure these are addressed. Report all complaints promptly and keep risk assessments up to date. Protect the privacy and confidentiality of service users and do not divulge information to unauthorized persons. Be vigilant for signs of potential abuse and report concerns immediately. If you are going to be late for a call, contact the office or Out-of-Hours Duty Manager as soon as possible.
CEL Homecare requires a DBS check prior to commencement, appropriate to your role and the service user groups you will support. Offers of employment are subject to two written and verified references, one from your last employer. All candidates must complete an Application Form and will be interviewed. All posts are subject to a three-month probationary period.
The following personal attributes are essential for a Mobile Home Care Worker: self-motivated; organized; flexible; caring; sensitive to the needs of others and vulnerable people; an active team player but able to work on own initiative; a good communicator; able to follow care planning requirements and instructions.
Ideally the post holder would also be flexible in terms of availability, working hours, adaptability; have previous care experience; have their own transport; and have knowledge of local neighbourhoods.
