Job summary

ECON LIMITED in Central Scotland is seeking a Mobile HGV Technician to maintain and service our fleet of winter maintenance vehicles. This role is based from home with travel across the surrounding counties.

You will perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and breakdown assistance, with training provided on Mercedes and DAF trucks. A Class 2 HGV license is required; 3+ years of experience preferred; flexible hours during winter peaks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience repairing and maintaining HGV/PSV.
• Proactive commercial vehicle engineer with team and independent work experience.
• Able to work flexible hours and adapt to seasonal demand.

Responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance and routine servicing following manufacturer recommendations to keep the fleet in top condition.
• Fault diagnosis and repairs using supplied diagnostics equipment and maintain high safety standards.
• Breakdown response and repairs to minimise downtime, especially during peak winter periods.
• Documentation: complete paperwork on a tablet and keep maintenance records up-to-date.
