Job summary

NG Bailey Facilities Services is seeking a Mobile General Maintenance Technician to service railway stations across Kent, Southeast London and Sussex. Role involves electrical maintenance and fabric repairs while travelling between sites on a daily basis.

The position offers a full-time arrangement with 40 hours per week, on-call duties, overtime opportunities and a company van. A full UK driving licence is essential and relevant trade qualifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in Fabric Technician, Building Maintenance or similar multi-skilled role.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• City & Guilds trade qualification or equivalent advantageous.
• Ability to work independently across multiple sites while delivering quality service.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned and reactive building fabric maintenance across railway stations.
• Carry out minor repairs, decorating, carpentry and plumbing tasks.
• Complete fabric-related PPMs and reactive repairs to SLAs and KPIs.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs with minimal supervision.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to meet contractual obligations.
• Maintain safe working practices, following method statements and health & safety procedures.

About the Role

Are you ready to take your maintenance skills on the road? At NG Bailey Facilities Services, we're looking for an experienced Mobile General Maintenance Technician to join our prestigious SETL - South East Trains Limited Railway Contract.In this dynamic role, you'll be responsible for providing essential electrical maintenance across train stations in the Southeast London area, Kent, and occasionally Sussex. Your Responsibilities

• Perform planned and reactive building fabric maintenance across a portfolio of railway stations.
• Handle a diverse range of tasks, including minor building repairs, decorating, basic carpentry, and plumbing.
• Complete fabric-related PPM tasks and reactive repairs within agreed Service Level Agreements and KPIs.
• Diagnose faults and efficiently complete repairs, often working independently across multiple locations.
• Collaborate with other engineers and technicians to meet contractual obligations.
• Ensure all work is conducted safely, adhering to method statements, risk assessments, and health & safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of completed works and site documentation.
• Utilize the client's CAFM system to log work and provide service delivery updates.
• Liaise professionally with clients, station teams, FM colleagues, subcontractors, and service partners.
• Assist in coordinating and supervising subcontractor works, ensuring health & safety standards are upheld.
• Proactively identify maintenance issues to maintain high standards across premises.
• Undertake minor works and small projects with minimal supervision.

Working Hours

Enjoy a balanced work-life with 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, along with participation in an on-call rota (1-6). There are also opportunities for overtime when needed!

What We're Looking For

• We seek a practical and experienced General Maintenance Technician who takes pride in their work and can deliver high-quality maintenance services.
• You should be comfortable working independently and managing your workload across multiple sites while providing excellent customer service.
• Experience in a Fabric Technician, Building Maintenance, Handyperson, or similar multi-skilled maintenance role.
• Practical experience in fabric-related PPM and reactive maintenance tasks.
• A broad range of building maintenance skills, including repairs, decorating, carpentry, and plumbing.
• The ability to diagnose issues and complete repairs with minimal supervision.
• Good knowledge of Health & Safety requirements and safe systems of work.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Experience with job documentation and mobile or CAFM systems.
• A relevant City & Guilds trade qualification or equivalent (advantageous).
• PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification (advantageous but training can be provided).
• A full UK driving licence (essential).
