Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose faults and carry out emergency repairs on plant and forklift machinery.
  • Collaborate with customers on related lifting and handling products.
  • Work independently at customer sites and ensure documentation is accurate.
  • Travel to sites and carry out equipment repairs.
  • Work on engines, batteries, pneumatics, and hydraulics.

Job Role: Mobile Forklift Engineer

Location: Norwich, Norfolk

Salary: £35,000–£40,000 base (OTE £45,000+)

Hours: Monday‑Friday 08:00‑17:00 + Door to Door Paid + Overtime @1.5x

Job Type: Full time, Permanent

The client:

Interaction Technical has partnered with a well‑established, growing material handling firm to seek an experienced mobile forklift repair engineer. Our client provides handling and access solutions to firms all over the UK and operates sites across the country.

The package:
  • 24 days annual leave + public holidays (32 days overall)

  • Full training and development surrounding electrical & mechanical repairs, fault finding and diagnostics

The Duties:
  • Accurately diagnose faults, service and carry out emergency repairs/breakdowns on plant and forklift machinery.
  • Collaborate with customers surrounding the plant, lifting and handling products.
  • Work independently at customer sites and collaborate with colleagues to ensure documentation and the perfect solution are offered.
  • Travel to sites and carry out repairs of the equipment, creating solutions.
  • Work on engines, batteries, pneumatics and hydraulics, alongside mechanical and electrical fault finding and repairs.
The Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in the plant or forklift industries (essential)
  • Previous experience working with hydraulics, alongside mechanical and electrical capabilities (essential)
  • Experience working with engines and batteries (essential)
  • Electrical and/or mechanical fault finding, repair & service experience
  • Relevant qualifications (NVQ or City & Guilds in mechanical/electrical engineering) – advantageous
  • Full UK driver’s licence
