Mobile Fleet Technician

Location: Cleveland, OH

Pay: $25-$35/Hour

Mobile Fleet Technician / Diesel Technician will be joining an established national service provider within the transportation and power systems industry. This is a hands‑on field‑based position focused on maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing heavy‑duty trucks and diesel‑powered equipment at customer sites.

The Mobile Fleet Technician / Diesel Technician will carry out inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs to ensure vehicles operate safely and efficiently, all while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining compliance with DOT standards.

Salary: $25-$35/Hour (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform high‑quality repairs, maintenance, and inspections on diesel engines and heavy‑duty trucks in line with manufacturer specifications.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, brake, emissions, and A/C systems.
  • Complete preventive maintenance (PM) services, DOT inspections, and documentation accurately.
  • Plan repair work, estimate labor and parts, and execute service tasks efficiently.
  • Use diagnostic software and follow electronic service procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area, including service vehicle and tool inventory.
  • Support and mentor junior technicians when required.
  • Comply with all safety, EPA, and internal service policies.
Requirements
  • 3+ years’ experience in diesel or heavy vehicle repair (5–7 years preferred).
  • Certificate or diploma from a technical school (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain DOT Medical Card.
Preferred certifications
  • ASE T4 (Brakes), T7 (HVAC), T8 (Preventive Maintenance)
  • MACS 609 or equivalent mobile A/C certification
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability across mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and diagnostic software.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in physically demanding environments, including variable weather and outdoor conditions.
