Job description

Are you a skilled technician with a passion for keeping vehicles roadworthy and compliant? Anglian is seeking a dedicated Mobile Fleet Technician to join our transport team. This mobile role is key to maintaining our extensive fleet and vehicles - predominantly vans - through regular inspections, minor repairs, and on-the-ground support.

Your Role at a Glance:
  • Lead the 13-week inspection program across your allocated region, ensuring all vehicles meet compliance and safety standards
  • Perform minor repairs on defects identified during inspections
  • Audit repair work completed by third-party providers to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Respond to urgent vehicle defects flagged during inspections or reported by drivers
  • Operate from a fully equipped mobile support unit, stocked with sundries, repair parts, mobile weighing equipment, OBD reader, and air compressor
  • Use your company issued tablet and smartphone to log inspections, report issues, and book major repairs with our main fleet maintenance provider
  • Act as the key conduit between your region, the transport team, and head office
What You’ll Need:
  • Experience in vehicle maintenance, ideally with light commercial vehicles
  • NVQ 3 or equivalent in Light Vehicle maintenance & repair
  • Skilled in legal requirements for fleet management
  • Strong diagnostic and minor repair skills
  • Confidence in using digital tools for reporting and scheduling
  • Excellent communication and auditing skills
  • A proactive, self-managed approach to mobile work
  • Full UK driving licence
