Job summary

JLL is seeking a Fabric Engineer for the Integral Cooling Technology unit, based in the Midlands with nationwide travel. Responsible for fabrication tasks, panel fitting, energy works, and site risk assessments, ensuring compliance with H&S and industry standards.

  • Full UK driving licence.

Job description

Fabric Engineer — Integral Cooling Technology Business Unit

Location: Midlands (South) with nationwide travel expected.

Responsibilities
  • Fabrication tasks supporting cabinet operation, including spare parts control, night blind fitting, evaporator fitting, full store removal, case moves and refurbishment, LED light works, end wall supply and fitting, trim heaters, fan replacements, bumper replenishment, door handles, temporary cabinets, door seals, glazes, light diffusers and clips.
  • Manufacture and fitting of bespoke replacement panels and parts.
  • Waste management, cabinet hire support and energy works.
  • Cabinet installation as per program of works.
  • Carry out site‑specific Risk Assessments and provide monthly reports to the branch QSHE Co‑ordinator.
  • Near miss reporting and accident logging; report to the branch QSHE Co‑ordinator.
  • Ensure PPE is fit for purpose and worn at all times; new PPE supplied via the Branch.
  • Keep PAT testing of electrical equipment up to date; arrange renewals with the Branch QSHE Co‑ordinator.
  • Perform van inspections twice a year, scheduled by the Branch QSHE Co‑ordinator.
  • Calibrate gauges and equipment, maintain certificates and notify the Branch Coordinator when out of calibration.
  • Maintain Integral standard Risk Assessments and Task Procedures in the van and keep copies of training certification.
  • Keep copies of pressure test regulation and customer‑specific pressure test details; complete and issue certificates to the Branch weekly.
  • Ensure compliance with all procedures, refrigeration industry codes and standards, environmental policies, and Group H&S procedures.
Compliance

All relevant company and legislative policies and best practices must be adhered to at all times. Inform the relevant Manager of non‑conformances and ensure corrective action is taken.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years in a similar role with in‑depth understanding of end‑to‑end processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence at senior levels.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, flexibility, proactivity, and ability to work independently with high energy and creativity.
  • Excellent team leadership, organisational capabilities, and commitment to collaboration; ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • CSCS Card advantageous; training can be provided.
  • Experience working with diverse customers across retail environments.
  • Computer literacy across various IT systems.
  • Willingness to work nationally with travel.
