Mobile Electrical Engineer

Key Account Network

We are seeking a skilled Mobile Electrical Engineer to deliver high‑quality electrical and building services maintenance across a range of client properties. You will be responsible for fault finding, repairs, installations, and planned and reactive maintenance of electrical systems, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a professional standard. This role requires mobility across multiple sites and the ability to respond promptly to callouts as per client rotas.

This hands‑on, multi‑skilled role also involves overseeing contractor work, issuing permits to work, and maintaining compliance with statutory regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in both reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) within FM or commercial building services and hold the relevant electrical qualifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver planned and reactive electrical maintenance and fault‑finding across client sites.
  • Undertake installations, repairs, and testing of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Perform other building services maintenance including fabric, HVAC, and mechanical systems where required.
  • Provide out‑of‑hours call‑out response according to client rota, resolving issues promptly.
  • Monitor and control contractor activities on‑site, ensuring workmanship meets required standards and issuing permits to work.
  • Ensure all electrical equipment operates to specified performance criteria and complies with company standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and compliance checks.
  • Provide a professional, customer‑focused service and represent the company on‑site.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements, preventative maintenance, or enhancements to electrical systems.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
  • NVQ 2356 / 2357 with AM2 OR City & Guilds 2330 Level 3 in Electrical Installation with AM1 & AM2 OR City & Guilds 236/2360 Part 1 & 2.
  • 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations certified.
  • Significant experience delivering reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in FM or commercial building services.
  • Experience in fault‑finding, installations, testing, and electrical repairs.
  • Knowledge of health and safety, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • City & Guilds or equivalent in Inspection & Testing (2394/5) desirable.
  • JIB Accreditation.
  • IPAF / PASMA certification advantageous.
