Job summary

Wates Group's Property Services in the South East is seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join our facilities management team. You will perform PPM, reactive repairs and complex fault diagnosis across a range of commercial gas systems, ensuring safety and compliance across a diverse portfolio.

This role suits both mobile engineers and those operating in static sites, with responsibilities including inspections, fault diagnosis and supporting clients and contractors.

Qualifications

• ACS Commercial Gas qualifications incl. COCN1, CIGA1, CORT1, ICPN1, COCNP1/1A
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing & Heating or Gas Eng
• Minimum 3–5 years in commercial FM/maintenance
• Full UK Driving Licence (for mobile roles)

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned preventative maintenance across commercial gas assets.
• Diagnose and repair faults on boilers, burners, heating systems and controls.
• Carry out gas safety inspections and certification.
• Complete gas tightness testing and analysis, with related compliance checks.
• Maintain records through CAFM systems and digital reporting.
• Provide technical guidance to colleagues and junior engineers.
• Support minor installation and upgrade projects where required.
