Overview

Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer

Contract: Key Account Network

Location: Dundee and surrounding areas – travel along East Coast (Fraserburgh to Fife)

Hours of work: 40

Working Pattern: Mon-Fri | 8.00am–5.00pm + On-Call (average 3 times a year)

Contract Type: Permanent

We’re seeking a skilled and proactive Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer to join our facilities team dedicated to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) contract. Working across multiple sites in Scotland, you’ll deliver planned and reactive commercial gas maintenance to ensure safe, compliant, and fully functional heating and hot water systems.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake reactive and planned commercial gas maintenance across multiple sites.
  • Service, repair, and maintain gas-fired boilers, water heaters, and associated plant.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with gas safety regulations.
  • Complete all works to agreed service levels and maintain accurate job records via PDA/CAFM system.
  • Participate in the on-call rota to support urgent issues out of hours.
  • Maintain excellent communication with the helpdesk, colleagues, and site staff.
Qualifications and Competencies
  • Proven experience as a commercial gas engineer in multi-site environments.
  • Hold valid commercial gas qualifications (COCN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, TPCP1/1A, etc.) – Essential.
  • Strong knowledge of heating systems, boilers, and associated plant.
  • Comfortable using tablets or computers for job logging and documentation.
  • Be willing to participate in an on-call rota (enhanced pay).
  • Hold a full UK driving licence (no more than 6 points).

This is a hands-on and varied role within a supportive FM team, providing stability, regular hours, and the chance to make a real difference maintaining essential public service buildings.
