Job summary

Mitie Group plc. in Cornwall seeks a Mobile Cleaner to provide routine, periodic and specialist cleaning across 17 school sites. You will travel between sites, perform deep cleaning tasks, and support site teams to uphold high standards.

Hours are 3:00pm–9:00pm, Monday to Friday, with a company vehicle provided. A full UK driving licence is essential and training is available. Apply to join a professional cleaning team within a large facilities management company.

Job Information

Deliver excellent service standards for the delivery of routine planned and periodic cleaning for a Mitie customer. Ensure the contract service delivery is of a high standard, meeting allSLAagreements whilst adhering to the cleaning schedules.

Role Purpose

To provide mobile cleaning support across 17 school sites, delivering routine, planned, periodic, and specialist cleaning services to a high standard. The role involves travelling between sites, undertaking deep cleaning tasks, supporting site cleaning teams, and ensuring premises are secure. The post holder will work independently, following planned AMP work schedules and using their initiative to complete tasks effectively and efficiently.

Shift Pattern: 3:00pm - 9:00pm, Monday to Friday

Main Duties

• Undertake successfully all training required to deliver the cleaning role.
• Work within a team and under their own initiative.
• Adhere to allMitie Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.

• Maintain the designated area to an agreed level of cleanliness in line with the Contract and relevantSLAs, carrying out all daily weekly and periodic tasks as directed by the Cleaning Supervisor.
• Ensure that the service is delivered effectively and efficiently to a high standard.
• Ensure all equipment is kept clean, well maintained and is a safe working order.
• Report any maintenance requirements identified during cleaning tasks.
• Always maintain security – locking doors, following lost property procedures etc.

• Have a full knowledge and understanding of the designated cleaning area, including the agreed work specification and time allocated to facilities.
• Have a full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and approved chemicals used byMitie.
• Set a good example in terms of dress, behaviour, punctuality, and attendance.
• Ensure all Safeguarding Policies are always adhered to and raise any concerns in line with the Mitie policy.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Ensure contractors and external visitors comply with security and health and safety while on school premises.
• Build positive and productive working relationships with all customers, delivering excellent customer service and seeking ways to continuously improve and exceed expectations.
• To undertake any other related duties which are within the job holder's capability, according to the needs of the business.

Travel between 17 school sites using a company vehicle to provide cleaning support as required.Deliver routine, periodic, and deep cleaning services in accordance with contract specifications and service level agreements (SLAs).Undertake specialist cleaning activities including:

• Carpet cleaning
• High-level cleaning
• Hard floor deep cleaning and floor maintenance
• Deep cleans of classrooms, communal areas, toilets, and other school facilities

Follow AMP (Additional Maintenance Programme) schedules and complete planned works within agreed timescales.Use initiative to prioritise and complete AMP tasks during quieter periods of operation.Provide cover for absent cleaners and support cleaning teams across the contract.Lock and unlock school sites as required, ensuring premises remain secure at all times.Carry out site inspections and report maintenance, security, and health and safety issues.Operate specialist cleaning equipment safely and effectively following training and manufacturer's guidelines.Ensure all equipment is maintained in a clean and safe working condition.Adhere to all Mitie Quality, Safety, Health, Environmental, Safeguarding, and Security policies.Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when working within school environments.Build positive working relationships with school staff, colleagues, and customers.Complete any other duties appropriate to the role and business needs.
