Job summary

Thorn Baker Recruitment Ltd is assisting a client with a permanent Mobile Specialist Cleaner role covering a major UK retail portfolio across Devon. You will receive a company van, fuel card and mobile phone, with jobs planned in advance; most within about 90 minutes of Exeter with occasional overnight stays fully paid.

The ideal candidate will hold a full UK driving licence and have experience in window cleaning and specialist external cleaning, with IPAF training desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial window cleaning, specialist external cleaning or high-level cleaning.
• Ability to operate pressure washing equipment safely and effectively.
• Full UK driving licence required and reliable transport mindset.

Responsibilities

• Carry out high and low-level cleaning across retail, commercial and industrial sites.
• Perform specialist external cleaning including window cleaning and pressure washing.
• Complete planned cleaning tasks to defined specifications and timescales.
• Respond to reactive cleaning requirements as needed.
• Work safely at height with appropriate equipment.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and perform basic maintenance.
• Use company PDA/mobile apps to submit job reports and documentation.
• Build positive relationships with clients and store teams.
• Ensure all tasks comply with Health & Safety procedures and standards.

Permanent Opportunity - Mobile Specialist Cleaner - £32,250 + Company Van

Are you an experienced window cleaner or specialist cleaning operative looking for your next opportunity? Do you enjoy working across a variety of sites rather than being based in one location? If you have experience in high-level cleaning, pressure washing or external cleaning and want to join a growing specialist team, we'd love to hear from you.

We're recruiting for a number of Mobile Specialist Cleaners to support a major UK retail portfolio across Devon. You'll be provided with a company van, fuel card and mobile phone, with all work planned in advance wherever possible. Most jobs are within approximately 90 minutes of Exeter, although occasional overnight stays may be required for reactive works, with hotel accommodation fully covered.

You must have a full UK driving licence and experience in window cleaning and specialist cleaning

Your Role

• Carrying out high and low-level cleaning across retail, commercial and industrial sites
• Specialist external cleaning including commercial window cleaning and pressure washing
• Completing planned cleaning tasks to agreed specifications and timescales
• Responding to reactive cleaning requirements when required
• Working safely at height using the appropriate equipment
• Carrying out basic maintenance of cleaning equipment, including changing O-rings and ensuring equipment remains serviceable
• Using company PDA/mobile applications to complete job reports and documentation
• Building positive working relationships with clients and store teams
• Ensuring all work is completed in line with Health & Safety procedures and company standards

Working Hours

• Working any 5 days from 7
• Flexibility required for early starts and occasional overnight stays
• Standard working day with approximately 7 hours on site (8 hours paid)

About You

• Previous experience in commercial window cleaning, specialist cleaning or external cleaning
• Experience using pressure washing/jet washing equipment
• Comfortable working at height
• IPAF 3a/3b licence desirable (training available)
• IPAF Harness User qualification desirable
• Full UK driving licence is essential
• IT literate and comfortable using mobile/PDA technology
• Reliable, professional and customer-focused
• Flexible to travel throughout Devon with occasional overnight stays
