Responsibilities

• Conduct routine preventive maintenance on diverse chiller systems.
• Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical and refrigeration faults.
• Carry out F-Gas leak detection and recovery.
• Identify opportunities for system optimisation.
• Liaise with clients to provide work explanations.
• Complete accurate service reports and administrative tasks.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations.
• Participate in on-call rota for emergencies.
• Provide support to junior technicians.

Salary: Paying up to £60,000

Key Responsibilities

• Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Conduct routine preventive maintenance on diverse chiller systems, including air‑cooled, water‑cooled, absorption and adiabatic chillers, to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Fault Diagnosis & Repair: Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical and refrigeration faults efficiently and accurately, performing effective repairs on components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, control systems, pumps and pipework.
• F‑Gas Management: Carry out F‑Gas leak detection, recovery and recharging in strict compliance with current F‑Gas regulations and environmental standards.
• System Optimisation: Proactively identify opportunities for system optimisation and efficiency improvements, advising clients on best practices and potential upgrades.
• Client Interaction: Liaise professionally and directly with clients, providing clear explanations of work carried out, identifying any further required works and building strong working relationships.
• Documentation & Reporting: Complete accurate service reports, timesheets, expense submissions and other administrative tasks promptly and efficiently using mobile technology.
• Health & Safety: Adhere strictly to all company and site‑specific health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and method statements.
• On‑Call Rota: Participate in an out‑of‑hours on‑call rota for emergency breakdowns as required (currently every 14 weeks).
• Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians or apprentices when appropriate.

Requirements

• 17th/18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations.
• IOSH or NEBOSH safety qualifications.
• CSCS Card, IPAF, PASMA certification.
• Experience with building management systems (BMS) and controls.
• Familiarity with absorption chillers.
