Job summary

Carmarthenshire County Council is seeking a catering assistant to work in our Llanelli kitchens. You will help cooks prepare nutritious meals and maintain high hygiene standards. The role covers 16 hours and 15 minutes per week, with a £13.45 hourly rate.

Hours are Monday to Friday, with flexible duties and a supportive team environment. The role includes setting up and clearing tables, basic cleaning, and adherence to safety policies.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic food safety (advantage, not essential) with full training provided.

Job description

Working for us, you will have the opportunity to work in our busy kitchens located in the Llanelli area. You will assist our Cook's in preparing nutritious and appetising meals whilst ensuring compliance with all aspects of Food Hygiene and Health and Safety. Other duties will include the setting up and clearing away of tables and general cleaning duties. This post is for 16 hours and 15 minutes per week / 3 hours 15 minutes per day . Hourly rate is £13.45. Working hours are Monday to Friday, term time only (38 weeks), ideal to fit around family commitments and other roles we offer. We offer an 'annualised' pay scheme so that our staff who work term time receive pay over 52 weeks. • Flexibility and the willingness to assist with other catering duties., An Enhanced with Barred List Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be requested for this job. It is an offence to apply for the role if the applicant is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children or adults at risk
• Welsh language level - verbal Level 2 - You will need a basic level of conversational Welsh. Reasonable support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.
