We are recruiting on behalf of a national supplier of technologically advanced plant hire machinery, serving construction, rail, major projects, and energy industries. The company is committed to safety, sustainability, and integrity, investing in people through training and career progression.

We are seeking a Mobile & Workshop Fitter to join the Northern workshop and mobile service team based in Wigan. This role involves servicing and maintaining a wide range of construction and earthmoving equipment, working both from the depot and on-site as required. The role also offers opportunities to assist with digital innovations such as GPS systems and safety monitoring technologies.

Job Overview
  • Routine servicing of construction equipment per manufacturer schedules.
  • Lubricant and fluid monitoring and replenishment.
  • Preventative maintenance and fault reporting.
  • Cleaning, inspecting, and preparing plant for transfer or redeployment.
  • Fitting replacement parts and supporting larger maintenance/repair tasks.
  • Assisting with digital systems installation and product support as required.
Job Requirements
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with experience on heavy plant and hydraulic systems.
  • Understanding of risk assessments and method statements.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive, self-motivated with good communication, time management, and initiative.
  • Experience with construction equipment and hydraulic systems.
Salary & Benefits
  • £16/hour, 42.5-hour week (8:00am-4:30pm).
  • Overtime: 1.5x after 42.5 hours; double time after 4 hours on Saturdays and all hours on Sundays.
