Mobile A/C Engineer

Location: London & Home Counties (Head Office in Reading)

Salary: ~ £49,000 per annum + company van + benefits

Job Purpose

To provide mobile servicing, maintenance, installation, and emergency repairs of air conditioning and HVAC systems across commercial and light industrial clients in London & the Home Counties. The engineer will be expected to respond rapidly to breakdowns, carry out preventative maintenance, and ensure systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with Regulation and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and routine servicing of air conditioning and refrigeration systems (split units, VRV/VRF, AHUs, chillers, DX systems)
  • Diagnose faults and perform reactive repair work, ensuring minimal disruption to clients
  • Install new A/C systems / replacement of existing units, including commissioning and performance testing
  • Maintain and manage F‑Gas logbooks, ensure compliance with refrigerant regulations, leak detection, repair, recovery, and re‑charging
  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Assist with system upgrades, retrofits, or replacement work as required
  • Respond to emergency call‑outs as part of an on‑call rota (if required by the company)
  • Use a company van to travel to various client sites; ensure vehicle is maintained, stocked with required tools, parts, and PPE
  • Provide excellent client service: regular communication with clients, clear explanations of faults, quotations for repairs or upgrades
  • Complete all service reports, paperwork and documentation in a timely, accurate manner, often using mobile devices / digital job management systems
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations on site (incl. risk assessments, safe systems of work, COSHH, etc.)
