Job summary

Hinkley Point C requires skilled welders to join a specialist mechanical construction and installation team. You will be responsible for ensuring all welding meets quality assurance, inspection and traceability requirements on a major energy infrastructure project.

Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Welding/Fabrication or a recognised time-served apprenticeship is required, with proven MMA (111) and/or TIG (141) welding experience.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Welding/Fabrication or recognised time-served apprenticeship.
• Experience MMA (111) and/or TIG (141) welding.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and welding procedures.
• CCNSG Safety Passport or willingness to obtain; BPSS security clearance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure welding meets stringent quality assurance, inspection and traceability requirements.
• Work on Arabelle turbine installation and related power generation/welding activities; operate in heavy engineering environments.

Job description

Working as part of a specialist mechanical construction and installation team, you will be responsible for, Ensuring all welding meets stringent quality assurance, inspection and traceability requirements.

Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Welding/Fabrication or recognised time-served apprenticeship.

• Proven experience in MMA (111) and/or TIG (141) welding.
• Relevant coded welding qualifications or experience working to ISO 9606 standards.
• Ability to successfully complete project-specific welding trade tests.
• Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel or alloy materials.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and welding procedures.
• CCNSG Safety Passport or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to satisfy BPSS security clearance requirements.
• Full right to work in the UK. Experience in nuclear, turbine installation, power generation or Chrome Moly welding would be advantageous.
