Job summary

Dex is partnering with a pioneering AI biology lab to recruit an early-stage technical hire. You will design, train, and evaluate deep learning models on massive biological and clinical datasets, and also build the training infrastructure to enable rapid experimentation in a small, focused team.

You will establish evaluation frameworks, set technical standards, and drive systems that reason over biology to generate hypotheses and learn from feedback.

Qualifications

• Experience building research-grade ML/DL models.
• Ability to design experiments and diagnose failures.
• Experience building scalable training infrastructure.
• Comfort with ambiguity and owning hard problems.

Responsibilities

• Design, train, and evaluate deep learning models on proprietary, high-dimensional biological and clinical datasets.
• Build and optimize training infrastructure to enable rapid, ambitious experimentation for a small, intense team.
• Develop robust evaluation frameworks for biological prediction, moving beyond standard ML metrics.
• Help define the technical stack and research standards for an early-stage AI biology lab.
• Contribute to systems that reason over complex biological data, generate hypotheses, and learn from feedback loops.
