RedTech in London is seeking a Machine Learning–focused Software Engineer to join a stealth-startup developing pioneering security and media analysis technology. You’ll work on AI, computer vision and audio processing with a cutting-edge stack, joining a team founded by experts with a track record of building successful ventures.

Equity is offered as part of a unique early-stage package. This role is primarily onsite in Central London (4–5 days/week) with a salary range £45k–£90k per year plus

Qualifications

• Experience in an AI software development role with CV, audio processing, or generative AI exposure.
• PhD preferred or startup environment experience.
• Strong STEM degree with high academic history (2:1 or First) and strong A-Levels or equivalents.

Responsabilités

• Prototype early-stage ML/AI/Computer Vision software development.
• Design and develop video and audio processing components.
• Contribute to prompt engineering for intelligent media processing with generative AI tools.
• Collaborate to build systems for anomaly detection, audio transcription, and event-based alerts.
• Shape early-stage infrastructure for analyzing and streaming audio/video data at scale; optimize for performance and maintainability.
• Participate in a fast-paced R&D startup environment focused on continuous improvement.

A brilliant opportunity for a Machine Learning-focused Software Engineer with experience in AI, Audio, and Computer Vision to join an incredibly exciting start-up in London, which is currently in stealth mode developing pioneering technology in the security and media analysis space. Joining a company founded by experts in their field – with a proven track record of building successful start-ups – this offers the chance to work in an environment filled with technological innovation and a cutting-edge tech stack.

This is a unique opportunity to join at this early stage, receiving equity in the business, while helping shape and develop the products during this innovative R&D phase.

Location

Central London, UK – mostly onsite (4–5 days per week)

Salary

£45,000 – £90,000 per annum (dependant on experience level) + equity in the business

Requirements for AI/ML Software Engineer

• Experience in an Artificial Intelligence Software Development role with exposure to areas like computer vision, audio processing, and generative AI systems
• Ideally, you will be educated to PhD level, or you have experience working in a start-up environment
• Excellent academic history, ideally including a 2.1 or First in a STEM degree from a leading university, plus strong A-Level (or equivalent) results
• Able to use Claude/Codex to build, rather than just ML model research
• Proficient in programming – the current stack includes Python, C++, Go, and AWS. Experience with cloud-native systems, edge ML, or tools for audio/video analysis would be a bonus
• Strong problem-solving ability
• Keen to work in a fast-paced R&D start-up environment (as opposed to a large corporate setting)
