Castle Veterinary Group is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon for a mixed practice across Castlewellan and Downpatrick in County Down. The role offers a diverse caseload, clinical autonomy and a supportive team. A permanent position with competitive salary and company vehicle provision is available.

This is a full-time role with a balanced schedule, including on-call rotas across evenings and weekends. The ideal candidate will have RCVS registration and proven mixed-practice experience.

Qualifications

• RCVS registration is required.
• Experience in a mixed veterinary setting with responsibility for both small animal and farm work.
• Strong communication skills and client relationship management.
• Comfort with independent decision-making and on-call duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide a balanced mix of small animal and farm animal medicine and surgery.
• Manage medical and surgical cases with preventative care and emergency procedures.
• Be involved in ambulatory farm work and local client service.
• Collaborate with a supportive team to ensure high standards of care.
