Job summary

ProTalent Limited is seeking an experienced Mixed Tax Manager in Leatherhead to lead a mixed corporate/personal tax portfolio within a forward-thinking accountancy practice. The role involves managing client relationships, delivering compliance and advisory work, and mentoring junior staff.

You will review corporation and personal tax returns, advise on planning and structuring, and liaise with HMRC as needed. The firm offers hybrid working and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified (or equivalent) with mixed tax experience.
• Strong knowledge of corporate and personal tax and UK tax law.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Experience managing client portfolios with compliance & advisory work.
• Proven ability to review and sign off tax work and mentor staff.
• Commercial mindset for business development and client growth.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of owner-managed businesses, SMEs, and high-net-worth individuals, delivering both corporate and personal tax services.
• Reviewing and finalising corporation tax and personal tax returns, ensuring UK compliance.
• Providing advisory support on capital allowances, R&D tax relief, inheritance tax planning, and business structuring.
• Acting as main contact for clients with strategic tax planning advice.
• Supporting and mentoring junior tax staff and training.
• Working with partners to identify business development opportunities.
• Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients.

Are you an experienced Mixed Tax Manager looking for an exciting opportunity within a well-established accountancy practice? This is a fantastic role for a tax professional who enjoys working across both corporate and personal tax and wants a part of a friendly, forward-thinking firm in Leatherhead.

The Role

As a Mixed Tax Manager, you’ll manage a diverse portfolio of clients, providing both compliance and advisory services across corporate and personal tax . You’ll play key role in developing client relationships, supporting junior team members, and contributing to the growth of the firm’s tax offering.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing a portfolio of owner-managed businesses, SMEs, and high-net-worth individuals, delivering both corporate and personal tax services.
• Reviewing and finalising corporation tax and personal tax returns, ensuring compliance with UK tax legislation.
• Providing advisory support on areas such as capital allowances, R&D tax relief, inheritance tax planning, and business structuring.
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients, offering strategic tax planning advice tailored to their needs.
• Supporting and mentoring junior tax staff, reviewing their work, and assisting with training and development.
• Working closely with partners to identify business development opportunities and contribute to the firm’s growth.
• Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients, handling queries, investigations, and negotiations where required.

About You:

• ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified (or equivalent), with solid experience in mixed tax within an accountancy practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of corporate tax, personal tax, and UK tax legislation.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to provide clear and proactive tax advice.
• Experience managing a portfolio of clients and delivering both compliance and advisory services.
• Proven ability to review and sign off tax work and support junior staff.
• A commercial mindset with the ability to spot opportunities for business development and client growth.
