Mixed Animal Veterinary Surgeon – Port Erin

Key Details:

  • Working Days: Full-time, 4–5 days per week with 1 in 3 weekends
  • Hours: 08:30–18:30
  • Duties: Mixed caseload across small animal, equine, and farm species, including consultations, diagnostics, treatments, and surgeries
  • Salary: A competitive salary will be offered, dependent on experience, with accommodation and a vehicle provided.
About the Role
  • Our client is seeking a veterinary surgeon to join a mixed practice with a predominantly small animal caseload. The role covers approximately 70% small animal, 15% equine, and 5% farm work.
  • The successful candidate will carry out consultations, diagnostics, medical management, and surgical procedures. Laparotomy experience is preferred.
  • There will be periods of sole charge, so confidence and sound clinical judgement will be necessary. The position includes participation in a 1 in 3 weekend rota with generally quiet out-of-hours requirements.
  • The team values collaboration, case discussion, and community engagement. Proficiency with ezyVet or similar practice management software will be expected.
About the Practice

The practice is a modern, well‑equipped facility in a picturesque seaside location. It offers surgery, dentistry, and diagnostic imaging, supported by an in‑house laboratory for timely test results. The service operates from 08:30 to 18:30 on weekdays, with an on‑call provision for emergencies outside these hours. The team comprises vets, nurses and administrative staff who provide a supportive environment. Professional development is encouraged, and there is scope for service development and future growth.
