Job summary

Astroscale UK is seeking a team lead for systems engineers to drive key space projects through early and late lifecycle stages. You will manage a group of engineers, define mission concepts, requirements and timelines, and mature system architectures to meet performance goals.

You will lead trade-off analyses, manage stakeholders, and ensure delivery plans with clear risk mitigations. Hybrid work is available with relocation support and a collaborative, international team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in space systems or similarly complex systems.
• Understanding of subsystems in typical satellite missions.
• Experience deriving and managing engineering requirements.
• Ability to perform technical and programmatic trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Define mission concepts, requirements and timelines from customer needs.
• Lead trade-off analyses and mature system architectures for lifecycle stages.
• Design baselines and change management across the system lifecycle.
• Manage stakeholders to reach consensus on technical topics.
• Negotiate action plans for deliverables and risk mitigations.
• Delegate work and manage workload across the team.
• Provide oversight of team output and plan for headcount needs.
• Support recruitment and develop existing team members.
