Job summary

Nominal is seeking a Mission Operations Engineer in London to bridge software with real-world applications. You will tailor deployments to high-stakes environments, train users, and address challenges directly, shaping how customers operate Nominal’s platform.

You will collaborate with hardware and software teams, own deployment projects end-to-end, and travel as required to support diverse mission contexts. Eligible for UK SC/DV clearance is a plus.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional experience in hardware engineering and/or data engineering.
• Experience in propulsion test stands, satellite mission operations, or flight testing.
• Ability to construct data models and help users turn data into decisions.
• Strong math/physics intuition relevant to customer daily tasks.
• Excellent communication to guide customers and stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and obtain UK SC/DV clearance (bonus).

As a Mission Operations Engineer, you'll bridge Nominal's software with real‑world applications, becoming an indispensable advisor to our customers. You'll ensure our solutions not only meet but exceed operational requirements, tailoring deployments to unique environments, providing comprehensive training, and directly addressing any challenges that arise. Your work will transform customer operations, enhance user experiences, and drive Nominal's technology to new frontiers.

About the role

• Proven Engineering Expertise: 4+ years of professional experience and have worked in the trenches of hardware engineering and/or data engineering. You have firsthand experience in environments like propulsion test stands, satellite mission operations, and flight testing, or you’ll have spent time constructing a data model users can empathize with and helping them turn that data into decisions. Your resume says, "I've built and tested the future."
