Job summary

BMT is seeking a Graduate Mission & Complex Systems Engineer to join our team in Bath or Fareham with hybrid working options. The role supports UK Defence work and requires suitability for security clearance.

You will work within the Wider Operational Systems Group on open-ended technical challenges, communicating complex ideas clearly and collaborating to deliver real-world impact for our customers.

Qualifications

• A STEM degree with strong analytical skills and understanding of engineering principles.
• Interest in UK Defence domain and safety-critical industries.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

About The Role

BMT is looking for Graduates to join our Mission & Complex Systems engineering team as a Graduate Mission & Complex Systems Engineer.

You are likely to thrive in this role if you enjoy open-ended technical problems, can communicate complex ideas clearly, and are motivated by work that has real-world impact for our customers. We do not expect you to arrive with detailed defence-domain knowledge; we are looking for interest within the defence and security domain, evidence of technical curiosity, sound judgement, collaboration and the ability to learn quickly. If you would like to work with a diverse, collaborative team to help support the creation, realisation, and transition into service of new Defence systems alongside the UK’s Armed Forces, this role may be for you.

• Exposure to complex systems or highly regulated sectors beyond defence, such as nuclear, energy or critical national infrastructure.
