Minor Illness Clinician – General Practice

Hours: 20-25 hours per week (Mondays and Wednesdays)

About the Role

As a Minor Illness Clinician, you will be responsible for providing immediate care to patients presenting with a range of minor illnesses. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and timely care.

Key responsibilities

• Assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients presenting with minor illnesses such as colds, flu, rashes, infections, and musculoskeletal complaints.
• Prescribing treatments, medications, and providing appropriate advice on self‑care.
• Offering patients health‑promotion advice and education to prevent illness and manage chronic conditions.
• Referring patients to other healthcare professionals or services when necessary.
• Maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date patient records in line with practice policies and regulatory standards.

About You

We are looking for a clinician with:

• Registered Nurse (RN) or Paramedic Practitioner (HCPC registered).
• Previous experience in a similar role within general practice or urgent care – essential.
• Independent Prescribing Qualification – desirable.
• Strong clinical decision‑making skills with the ability to work independently and within a team.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients.
• Commitment to patient‑centred care and a holistic approach to healthcare.
• Ability to manage a busy workload while maintaining a high standard of care.
• EMIS Web experience – desirable.
