Job description
Role Summary

Reporting to the General Manager – RMX (Midlands), the Minimix Manager will work cross‑functionally to manage the Midlands Minimix®, Didimix® and Newark Concrete businesses. The role involves day‑to‑day sales, customer management and communication, acting as the face of Tarmac. The Minimix Manager will strategically develop short, medium and long‑term performance plans, stay abreast of regional and external markets, and adapt the Minimix strategy to an evolving market. This is a maternity‑cover role.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary link between Tarmac and its customer accounts, providing clear and principled direction to enhance the customer experience.
  • Manage a portfolio of Minimix customers to deliver against targeted sales, price and profitability objectives, identifying opportunities to maximise cash position through efficient trading.
  • Provide external market intelligence regarding product demand and mix interest to support continual evolution of the strategic approach.
  • Resolve customer complaints in a timely manner and maintain customer relationships.
  • Improve invoicing performance.
  • Collaborate with business units to provide service solutions that meet and exceed customer specifications.
  • Provide the General Manager with monthly key metrics and performance rating reports.
  • Maintain accurate customer data in the CRM system.
Qualifications
  • Ability and proven experience managing and developing customer accounts.
  • Experience working cross‑functionally to deliver customer requirements.
  • Demonstrable experience utilising commercial tools and forecasts.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation and change‑management skills.
  • Excellent understanding of regional markets and the competitive landscape.
  • Ability to identify customer needs, build solutions and possess comprehensive product knowledge.
  • Emotional resilience, self‑awareness and empathy.
  • Confidence in the use of IT systems.
  • Willingness to travel between Tarmac offices.
  • Experience of Readymix RMX advantageous but not essential.

The role is based at The Hub in Mountsorrel, Quorn, near Loughborough, Leicestershire, and is easily accessible from Leicester, Melton Mowbray, Tamworth, Nottingham, Derby, Birmingham, Coventry, Telford, Worcester and across the Midlands region.
