Qualifications

• Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Mining Engineering, Geology, or related discipline required.
• Experience in mine/land surveying, open-pit and underground is desirable.
• Professional certification (RICS/MRICS or equivalent) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine mine surveys to statutory standards.
• Develop and maintain accurate maps and plans of mining areas.
• Monitor and report on ground stability, ventilation, and gas concentrations.
• Produce detailed survey reports and support long-term mine planning.

Skills

Mine Surveyor

Salary: £49,000 (OTE £55,000+)

Shift: Monday-Friday (Days) - No Nights/No Weekends

Location: Cheshire

BRAND NEW OPPORTUNITY to join one of the UK's most established and respected mining operations! This is an exciting chance for a Mine Surveyor to play a key role in supporting safe, sustainable, and efficient operations for a Market Leading company in the Cheshire area. You'll be joining a skilled Technical Services team within a business that is investing heavily in its people, equipment, and future growth.

This position would suit an experienced Mine Surveyor, or a qualified Land/Engineering Surveyor looking to take their career into a unique and rewarding environment.

Skills required for the Mine Surveyor:

• Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Mining Engineering, Geology, or related discipline
• Proven experience in mine/land surveying – both open‑pit and underground (desirable)
• Professional certification (RICS/MRICS or equivalent) advantageous but not essential
• Strong understanding of AutoCAD and surveying software
• Excellent data interpretation and analysis skills
• Confident communicator, able to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine mine surveys to statutory standards
• Develop and maintain accurate maps and plans of mining areas
• Establish and maintain survey control networks
• Monitor and report on ground stability, ventilation, and gas concentrations
• Calculate volumes of excavated and stockpiled materials
• Produce detailed survey reports and support long‑term mine planning
• Collaborate with engineers and geologists to ensure safe and efficient operations
• Support and mentor junior surveyors and technicians
