Eligibility
Cpl/LH and below ranks with a gap of service of no more than six years.
- If you fall slightly outside the above criteria you may still apply; a waiver may be granted subject to approval and interview processes.
- Previous Service Check: Your previous service records will be checked and final authorisation to proceed with the application must be given by the Army Personnel Centre.
- Any currently serving regular or reserve personnel wishing to transfer to the MPGS from across the tri‑services should email ArmyPM-MPGS-Recruitment@mod.gov.uk immediately to discuss the best process for you joining the MPGS.

Requirements
- Minimum 3 years UK Military experience (required).
- Full UK driving licence.
- Background: At least 3 years prior Military Service or currently serving in any arm of the British Military, regular or reserves.
- Age between 18 and 57 years at re-enlistment.
- Fit: Medical fit, BMI below 32.
- Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence with less than 8 penalty points.

Work Schedule
- Full-time, permanent.
- 12-hour shifts on a structured system of 4 on / 4 off.
Responsibilities
- Security incident management – handling suspicious packages, bomb threats, protests, etc.
- Patrolling site perimeters – taking necessary action to preserve perimeter security.
- Controlling entry and exit – managing control room and gate operations and ensuring all visitors are dealt with efficiently.
- Military Working Dog services (at selected sites).
- Work across the UK mainland – units located at over 120 sites.

Previously served personnel may apply: former substantive Cpl/LH (or equivalent) and above ranks with no more than a 10‑year gap of service, and former non‑substantive.
