Job summary

Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are seeking an experienced MIG Welder for a busy metal fabrication workshop in Dronfield. The role involves MIG welding carbon steel components, reading engineering drawings, and delivering high-quality welds to specification.

The position is temp-to-perm with potential to negotiate pay for the right candidate. Hours are Monday–Friday with a starting pay of £15 per hour, and there is a pathway to a permanent opportunity.

£15.00 per hour | Monday–Friday | Temp to Perm Opportunity

Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are looking for an experienced MIG Welder to join a busy metal fabrication workshop in Dronfield.

This is a great opportunity for a skilled welder with experience working with carbon steel who can read engineering drawings and take pride in producing quality work. The role is offered on a temp-to-perm basis, with the potential to discuss an increased hourly rate for the right candidate.

The Job:

• MIG welding carbon steel components and fabrications.




• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.




• Producing accurate, high-quality welds to the required specifications.




• Ensuring work is completed to a good standard.




• Maintaining a safe, tidy and organised working environment.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience in MIG welding is essential.




• Experience working with carbon steel.




• Able to read and work from engineering drawings.




• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.




• Reliable, hardworking and able to work independently.

Pay & Hours:

• Pay rate: £15.00 per hour, with potential to negotiate an increase for the right candidate.




• Monday–Thursday: 7:30am–4:00pm.




• Friday: 7:30am–3:00pm.




• Contract: Temporary to permanent opportunity.
