A healthcare organization in the UK is seeking a Midwife-Quality and Health Improvement to lead in enhancing quality and safety in maternity services. The candidate will provide leadership on audit and quality improvement, develop clinical guidelines, and support midwifery audits. Must be a registered midwife with a degree in healthcare, and demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills. We are recruiting for a Midwife-Quality and Health Improvement who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
To provide expert leadership in relation to quality and safety by supporting safe, evidence- based practice across the maternity service. To create pathways and strategies to support the implementation and delivery of enhanced and effective evidenced based practice at clinical, directorate and corporate level, to monitor the Obstetric and Gynaecology GAAP’s and Quality Standards (QS). They will lead in the development of midwifery and obstetric guidelines and to be responsible for providing audit leadership, be the point of contact for planning and coordination of midwifery and relevant multidisciplinary audits and action planning for quality improvement.
The post holder will communicate on audit, GAAP, QS, guideline and quality improvement matters.
The post holder will work in partnership with other members of the multidisciplinary team, supporting and advising less experienced staff and junior medical staff undertaking clinical audit.
The role includes responsibility for audit, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement to drive the Maternity Stop Smoking Service’s development and sustainability. The post holder will contribute to Trust, regional, and national reporting, and deliver Reducing Smoking in Pregnancy training to maternity staff. They will provide leadership and oversight of high-quality service delivery.

The successful candidate will provide audit leadership, guidance and expertise and be the point of contact for planning and coordination of midwifery and relevant multidisciplinary audit.
Support the monitoring and submission of GAAP's and QS's and any actions associated with audit and guideline development generated from these.
Lead the development of midwifery practice by developing clinical guidelines, overseeing the implementation of action plans from audit outcomes and quality improvement priorities.
Lead the midwifery audit programme, responding to national reports and recommendations, incidents, complaints and other local priorities identified.
Develop action plans in response to relevant government or national reports / recommendations. Regularly monitor the standards of midwifery led care framework and guidelines, ensuring improvements to practice or guidelines are made as necessary. Collect and maintain evidence to support Saving Babies' Lives Care Bundle Element 1, Reducing Smoking in Pregnancy, through regular reporting and quality improvement activity.
