Job description
Teacher of Middle School Art (Part Time)

Applications are welcomed as soon as possible. The position will close once a suitable candidate has been found. Fixed contract until June 2026.

Part time (anticipated 20–30% pro‑rata of £40,795 to £51,555 FTE). Working hours are 8 am to 4 pm, with evenings for parent conferences and other school activities.

Responsibilities
  • Teach Middle School Art in an inclusive setting, delivering inquiry‑based instruction differentiated to meet student needs across the learning continuum.
  • Develop, review and revise lesson planning and curriculum mapping using the School’s tool (Atlas Rubicon), aligning to the guiding statements.
  • Participate in professional development, after‑school activities, parent conferences, curriculum review activities and other school meetings.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with staff, parents and students while supporting a strong sense of community.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the School’s inclusive ethos.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree (Master’s Degree preferred). Teaching Certificate Preferred but not essential.
  • Knowledge of International Baccalaureate programmes.
  • Experience with unit planning and development.
  • Experience leading extracurricular activities.
  • Right to work in the UK.
Additional Requirements
  • Successful PVG check.
  • GTCS membership before employment starts.
  • A Disclosure Scotland PVG Membership application will be undertaken on behalf of the successful applicant; cost paid by the employer. The applicant must have registration with GTC Scotland.
