A major Japanese bank is recruiting a Middle Office Associate – Corporate Client Services to work in their London office. The role provides full administrative support to Relationship Managers and their Japanese corporate customer portfolios, handling account maintenance, liaising globally, and ensuring compliance with banking procedures.

Work type: Hybrid (3 days in office)

Working Hours & Start
Full-time, Monday to Friday 9:00 – 17:00. Start ASAP.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide day‑to‑day administrative support to customers and Relationship Managers for account maintenance matters (complex mandate change, fee taking, account opening / closing, balance confirmation, etc.)
- Liaise with colleagues in different global locations to resolve customer matters.
- Act as a first‑level advisor to customers and internal colleagues and escalte complex issues to management.
- Review and update team procedures to align with Global Standards/UK practice, collaborating with Operations, Compliance & Legal teams.
- Translate broader business decisions into team objectives to drive discipline change.
- Represent the team in internal meetings, sharing opinions and influencing decisionsli>
- Provide advice and guidance to junior staff on bank processes related to account maintenance.
- Oversee junior team members’ work as required.
- Verify customer documentation (mandates, agreements, indemnity) for Planning, Operations and Transaction Banking.
- Under manager’s guidance, collate and analyse operational statistical data for process improvement.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships across the division and other departments in EMEA and Head Office.
Ideal Candidate
- Banking/Finance industry experience (highly desirable but not essential).
- Experience in KYC related work (huge advantage).
- Business‑level fluency in Japanese and English (both writing and speaking).
- Strong B2B customer‑facing background (essential).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem‑solving, coordination and project management skills.
- Ability to work with urgency and prioritize work.
- Ability to manage large workloads and tight deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proactive, motivated approach.
- Calm, performs well under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and Word.
