Job description

Durrington All Saints Church of England Infant School Is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and flexible Midday Supervisory Assistant (MDSA) to support our children during lunchtime provision, starting in September 2026.

This part-time position is a key component of our lunchtime operations, ensuring pupils are provided with a healthy and enjoyable meal experience.

Working Hours: Part time (7.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 38 weeks per year). Required: September 2026.

We are a welcoming Infant school, educating children between the ages of 4 and 7 years. Situated in the heart of the charming village of Durrington, Wiltshire, we have strong relationships with the Junior School, All Saints Church and the local community. We are incredibly proud of our inclusive and adaptable approach to teaching and learning, which helps all our children to flourish and succeed. Within our Christian framework, we aim to foster the growth of our children both academically and spiritually; developing responsible, caring and happy individuals. We joined Acorn education Trust in May 2022, which provides exciting opportunities to improve local education, collaborate with schools and draw on collective experience. In June 2025, we were proud to, once again, be confirmed as a ‘good’ school by Ofsted.

Responsible for supervising and assisting children in the dining area and/or supervising them during inside/outside play, you will support other members of staff to ensure that our school lunchtime period runs smoothly while ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all children at all times. The role will involve preparing and cleaning the dining area after lunch as well as serving meals to children.

We are looking for someone who:
  • Has strong interpersonal and communication skills and are able to work with a variety of pupils and staff;
  • Has superb attention to detail and organisational skills;
  • Is self-motivated dedicated and consistent;
  • Has the ability to deal with new challenging situations;
  • Is a strong team player who can use their own initiative;
  • Has a positive and flexible attitude;
  • Has First Aid training, or is willing to complete it;
  • Enjoys working with children and has the ability to devise creative indoor / outdoor play activities for them;
  • Is happy to assist with general dining hall / kitchen cleaning and maintenance duties.
We can offer the successful candidate:
  • An ambitious and vibrant place to work, with enthusiastic children and staff who are passionate about learning;
  • A workplace where everyone feels valued and supported;
  • Opportunities for training and progression;
  • The support of Acorn Education Trust, with excellent opportunities to work with experienced colleagues;
  • A supportive and clearly defined induction procedure.
