Job summary

Grampian Primary Academy is seeking a Midday Supervisor to supervise pupils during the lunch break and help create a safe, enjoyable dining and play environment. Two vacancies are available on a permanent contract with part-time hours.

The posts involve 1 x 6 hours 15 minutes per week and 1 x 10 hours per week, with start date 28/09/2026 and a closing date of 19/09/2026. DBS checks and safeguarding compliance apply, along with professional collaboration with staff and pupils.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise activities and maintain health, safety, welfare, good conduct and safeguarding of pupils during the midday break.
  • Manage and support pupils whilst eating their midday meal.
  • Manage and support the school meal wristband system.
  • Report incidents in line with school policy and administer basic first aid.
  • Assist in the supervision and running of activities during the midday break, including setting out and storing equipment.
  • Encourage pupils to select and eat healthy balanced meals.
  • Clean up spillages of food or liquid during meal service.
  • Wipe down tables and clean dining areas between meals.
  • Organise pupils play activities either outside or in the classroom.
  • Talk and listen to the children and encourage independent skills and good manners.
  • Share concerns regarding any pupil with your Supervisor, Line Manager, Class Teacher or Head Teacher.
  • Share any child protection issues with the Head Teacher or Pupil/Parent Support Manager.

Working Pattern

1 x 6 hours 15 minutes per week (Monday – Friday 12.15 pm – 1.30 pm) 1 x 10 hours per week (Monday - Friday 11.30 am - 1.30 pm)

Job purpose

To work effectively as part of a team with responsibility for the children within the school during their lunchtime break.

Main duties and responsibilities
