Job summary

Waltham Gateway Academy seeks a Midday Supervisory Assistant to oversee lunch service and supervise students during the midday break. The post supports pupils’ safety, wellbeing and conduct in a busy school setting.

The role is part-time, permanent, with 6.25 hours per week, 11:45am to 1:00pm, Monday to Friday. Training in food hygiene, allergies, fire warden duties, and safeguarding will be provided.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Food Hygiene Safety
• Certificate in allergies (and anaphylaxis)
• Fire Warden Training
• Safeguarding (Level 1)

Responsibilities

• Liaising with Academy colleagues to ensure children receive the correct lunch, as ordered, alongside general administration requirements.
• Serving children their lunch, prepared off site.
• Ensuring safeguarding protocols are followed, including dietary requirements and allergens.
• Communicates effectively with students and staff
• Mobilises groups, queues, and individuals
• Undertakes ancillary work
• Ensures safe, orderly movement of children during midday break
• Organises students and equipment/space
• Maintains cleanliness and hygiene of work areas, including spillages and litter
