Job summary

Lift Unity City is seeking a Midday Supervisor for 10 hours per week during term time (39 weeks per year). The role runs Monday to Friday, 1pm–3pm, supporting a safe and positive lunchtime for pupils aged 11–16. You will work with a small team and contribute to a well-run dining hall.

Ideal candidates are approachable, calm under pressure and have prior experience around children or teenagers. UK right to work is required; sponsorship is not available.

• Help students enter and exit the dining area safely and manage spillages or cleaning tasks

• Respond to incidents calmly and report concerns to staff
• Recognise distress or bullying and take action to support those in need
• Clear and clean the dining space after lunch ends

About the role

This is a 10 hours per week, term time only position (39 weeks per year), working Monday to Friday across the lunch period (1pm to 3pm). You'll be part of a small, friendly team making sure every pupil enjoys a positive and safe break.

Key responsibilities

• Help students enter and exit the dining area safely and manage any spillages or cleaning tasks
• Supervise pupils in the dining hall, outdoor and other areas, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times
• Support positive behaviour and respectful interactions between students
• Respond to incidents calmly and report concerns to the right members of staff
• Recognise signs of distress or bullying and take action to support those who need it
• Clear and clean the dining space once lunch is finished

We are looking forsomebody who

• Is approachable, calm under pressure and confident in working with children aged 11 to 16.
• Has experience of being around children or teenagers either in a personal or work environment.
• Is able to commit to the required working hours per day
• Has a hands-on, energetic approach: Comfortable being on your feet throughout the shift, setting up and clearing away dining tables and chairs, and keeping the hall sparkling clean and safe for our pupils.
