Are you someone who is passionate about partnering with brokers and customers to truly understand their wants and needs?

Aviva is looking for Underwriters to join our team, aligned to a portfolio of brokers / customers, to proactively develop and profitably grow their commercial book of business.

This role does require you to go out on broker visits across the North West broker market so there is a need to be flexible with travel.

A bit about the job :

• To be a multiclass underwriter who operates within agreed guidelines and authority levels to profitably grow the book of business
• To be a great communicator who regularly has meaningful face to face meetings with brokers and / or customers to build their confidence in us and to make Aviva their insurer of choice
• To deal end to end with brokers / customers book of business
• To embrace and understand our SME strategy
• To be curious to grow understanding of the commercial business

Skills and experience we're looking for :

• Previous property & liability underwriting experience is essential
• The ability to analyse risks and communicate and present effectively to brokers and / or customers
• Work collaboratively within a large complex organisation
• Good knowledge of the FCA and other relevant regulation and legislation
• Strong commercial business acumen to create and deliver business cases
