Job summary

QC Legal seeks a mid-level associate (3–6 PQE) to join our Energy, Mining & Infrastructure practice in London. You will advise on complex cross-border transactions across mining, power and oil & gas, with exposure to English and NY law documents.

You will work on project development for greenfield and brownfield energy/mining projects, as well as M&A, JVs and structured finance across Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America, with true international deal exposure.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with experience in project development and corporate deals.
• Experience in mining, power, and/or oil & gas transactions.
• Exposure to cross-border transactions and multi-jurisdictional documentation.
• Strong drafting skills with the ability to manage complex, multi-party deals.

Responsibilities

• Advise on project development for energy and mining projects (greenfield and brownfield).
• Lead corporate transactions: M&A, JVs and structured finance across resources sectors.
• Handle mandates across Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.

About the Role

Our client’s Energy, Mining & Infrastructure practice is seeking a mid-level associate (circa 3-6 PQE) to join their growing team advising on complex, cross-border transactions across mining, power and oil & gas.

Up to $540,000 at the top of the scale.

What You'll Work on

• Project development for greenfield and brownfield energy and mining projects including offtake, supply and construction agreements.
• Corporate transactional work: M&A, JVs and structured finance across the energy and natural resources sectors.
• Mandates spanning Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.
• Critical minerals and rare earths matters, alongside broader power and hydrocarbons work.

What We're Looking for

• Qualified lawyer (England & Wales or equivalent) with solid project development and corporate experience gained at a top-tier international law firm.
• Demonstrable exposure to mining, power, and/or oil & gas transactions.
• Comfort working across English and/or New York law documentation.
• Strong drafting skills and ability to manage complex, multi-party deals independently.
• Interest in emerging markets and geopolitically complex jurisdictions.
