Job description
Responsibilities
  • Plan and teach well‑structured lessons to small groups of pupils following the school's plans, curriculum and schemes of work
  • Assess, monitor, record, and report on the learning needs, progress and achievements of assigned pupils, making accurate and productive use of assessment
  • Support and develop other staff
  • Lead on teaching and learning and curriculum initiatives
  • Liaise with parents, external agencies and a range of professionals
  • Develop and adapt conventional teaching methods to meet the individual needs of pupils

We are looking for an inspirational qualified teacher who has experience working with vulnerable children in a school setting and preferably has some leadership experience. The role will involve teaching a range of subjects to a small group of pupils ranging from KS3 to KS4 and assisting with middle‑level management with 50% teaching responsibilities.

  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively
  • Qualified SENCO or relevant experience desirable
  • Primary/Nurture training
  • Proven ability to offer dynamic & engaging lessons
  • SEN experience and a focus on nurture – SEMH/ASD
  • Ability to adapt teaching to meet pupils' needs; commitment to develop new skills through professional opportunities

The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check, the cost of which will be met by ISP School Teynham.

Hours: 8.30 am – 4.30 pm (35 hours per week)
