Job summary

HCLTech is seeking a Microsoft Power Platform Developer for an initial 4-month+ contract in Edinburgh, on-site. You will design, develop, and support scalable Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse, aligned with business requirements and governance standards.

You will collaborate with architects and delivery teams to modernise processes, deliver analytics, and ensure secure, compliant implementation across Dynamics 365, SharePoint Online, and

Qualifications

  • 6+ years designing and developing Microsoft Power Platform solutions.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Power Apps (Canvas & Model-Driven Apps).
  • Strong hands-on experience with Power Automate (Cloud Flows).
  • Strong hands-on experience with Power BI and Dataverse.
  • Experience integrating with Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, SQL Server, REST APIs, and Azure Services.
  • Knowledge of Power Fx, DAX, Power Query, Data Modelling, Security Roles, and Permissions.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, source control, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of governance, Managed Environments, and DLP policies.
  • Experience in Agile delivery environments.
  • Extensive Power Platform development experience.
  • Experience delivering enterprise-scale Power Platform implementations.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in CS/IT/Engineering.
  • Experience with Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement is valued.
  • Exposure to Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and Azure Integration Services is valued.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale Power Platform implementations is valued.
  • Knowledge of ALM best practices and certifications is valued.
  • Experience working in consulting or client-facing delivery environments is valued.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and strong analytical/problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support solutions on the Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Create scalable apps, automate processes, and deliver reporting using Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse.
  • Develop Canvas Apps and Model-Driven Apps and maintain user-friendly interfaces.
  • Implement role-based access controls and security models.
  • Integrate Power Apps with Dataverse, SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, and external systems.
  • Troubleshoot, fix bugs, and enhance applications.
  • Develop Cloud Flows and workflow automation solutions.
  • Create approval processes, notifications, data synchronisation, and integrations.
  • Integrate with Dataverse, Dynamics 365, SQL Server, REST APIs, and third-party apps.
  • Monitor, optimise performance and reliability.
  • Design and develop dashboards, reports, and data visuals.
  • Translate reporting requirements into actionable insights; ensure performance, security, and governance.
  • Participate in requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Produce technical docs and deployment guides; support ALM activities.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with architects, analysts, and stakeholders.
  • Adhere to governance, security, and compliance for Power Platform; support environment management and DLP policies.

Job description

Salary: £30,000 - 50,000 per year

Requirements
  • We require a minimum of 6+ years of experience designing and developing Microsoft Power Platform solutions.

  • We produce technical documentation and deployment guides.
  • We support Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) activities.
  • We participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, estimations, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • We collaborate with architects, business analysts, and stakeholders throughout the solution lifecycle.
  • We adhere to Power Platform governance, security, and compliance requirements.
  • We support environment management, Managed Environments, and DLP policy implementation.
  • We participate in code reviews and quality assurance activities.
