Job summary

Centry Services Group is seeking a Dynamics 365 Business Central consultant to deliver BC configurations and AL development across group companies. The role combines finance configuration with hands-on AL development, data migration and robust integration work, in a hybrid London/Kings Langley setting.

The ideal candidate brings 2+ years BC delivery experience, a proven implementation track, and strong ability to explain complex technical data to finance users.

Qualifications

• At least two years hands-on BC delivery; finance configuration and AL development; independent in both.
• BC finance configuration experience including posting groups, dimensions, journals, approvals, permissions, and core flows.
• Production AL delivery experience: VS Code, extensions and events, APIs, OData or web services, debugging, deployment through sandbox and production.
• At least one full implementation or major rollout from build to go-live.
• Hands-on data migration using configuration packages; RapidStart experience from NAV or earlier BC versions counts.
• Ability to explain technical and data issues clearly to finance users.
• Desirable NAV/C/AL background; transitioning legacy customisations to AL extensions.
• Desirable interface to non-Microsoft operational systems.
• Desirable Power BI reporting against BC data.
• Desirable AP automation ISVs such as Continia.

Responsibilities

• We build and configure BC companies from the group template, including posting setups, number series, journals, approval workflows and user permissions.
• We run data loads, including configuration packages, master data, opening balances, and the reconciliation work needed to secure Group Finance sign-off.
• We carry the bulk of AL development to the standards set by the lead solution architect, including interfaces to the legacy NAV estate, integrations to the operational systems, and extensions where standard BC falls short.
• We run test cycles to the lead solution architects plan, preparing scripts, supporting superuser-led UAT in each business, fixing defects and retesting.
• We support cutovers in person, including training, floor-walking and first-week support at each go-live.
• We provide hypercare after each go-live and build the handover, including support documentation, interface runbooks and knowledge transfer to the permanent support team before contract end.

• We require production AL delivery experience, including VS Code, extensions and events, APIs, OData or web services, debugging, source control and controlled deployment through sandbox and production environments.

We are Centry Services Group, a multi-entity UK group made up of four trading businesses in moving, relocation and related services, plus an overseas shared service centre running finance processing on the legacy estate. The role is based in London and Kings Langley, with three days in the office and two days hybrid, plus travel to group sites around cutovers. We are consolidating onto one Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central platform in two phases, with the first focused on group chart of accounts, financial ledgers and consolidated reporting, followed by operational scope, integrations and remaining migrations. The role reports to the Group Head of Finance, IT & Administration and works day to day with a lead solution architect, group IT and finance superusers, with the mandate approved and sponsored by our chief executive.
