Job summary

Cloud People is seeking a Microsoft 365 Technical Architect (Modern Work and Purview) to design, implement and optimise customer solutions. The role combines hands-on delivery with strategic architecture across Microsoft 365, Purview, and Copilot, including governance and security workshops for clients.

You will drive tenant migrations, advise on Copilot readiness, and work with a growing team of architects in a remote-first setup with monthly travel to the Bedfordshire office.

Qualifications

• Architect level knowledge of the Microsoft 365 stack with practical provisioning and security skills.
• Hands-on Purview experience with data governance, classification and compliance.
• Experience delivering tenant migrations and on-premise to cloud transitions.

• Lead Purview projects covering governance, classification, protection and compliance.
• Run tenant migrations end-to-end, including on-premise to cloud.
• Guide services from discovery through design, migration, transition and optimisation.
• Advise on Copilot readiness and governance workshops.
• Support solution design and proposals until pre-sales is in place.

Microsoft 365 Technical Architect (Modern Work and Purview)

Up to £80,000 depending on experience

Company & role

An established UK managed services provider and Microsoft partner, with a professional services team built around specialists rather than generalists. They are strong across end user compute, endpoint, cloud and Power Platform, and thin on Microsoft 365 and data governance. That is the gap you would own.

Architect is the title, but this is not a design only job. You scope it, design it, build it and optimise it, from the first customer workshop through to implementation and handover. It is a customer facing role throughout, and Purview runs through a growing share of the work as customers get their data in order before Copilot.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build Microsoft 365 solutions across Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange Online and Copilot
• Lead Purview projects covering data governance, classification, protection and compliance
• Run tenant migrations and consolidations end to end, including on premise to cloud
• Take services from discovery workshop through design, migration, transition and ongoing optimisation
• Advise customers on Copilot readiness and deliver Microsoft funded governance and security workshops
• Support solution design and proposals until a dedicated pre sales function is in place

Ideal Experience

• Architect level knowledge of the Microsoft 365 productivity stack with the practical skills to match, including tenant provisioning and security
• Hands on Purview. This is the piece that will be tested hardest
• Tenant to tenant, consolidation and on premise to cloud migrations you have delivered yourself, not overseen
• Entra, plus a working knowledge of the wider Microsoft security stack
• PowerShell you have written, rather than borrowed
• Credible with customers and able to drop the jargon when the room needs it
• Copilot readiness or content governance for AI is a bonus, as are MS 102, MS 700, SC 300 or SC 401, which they will fund
