Job summary

ALS Laboratories in Sittingbourne is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support the Microbiology department. The role involves testing a diverse range of finished food products and ingredients using analytical techniques, with a meticulous eye for detail and strict adherence to procedures.

Working days are 4 on, 4 off (9am–9pm). Full-time, permanent role with a salary of £26,867 plus £2,000 location allowance.

Qualifications

• Previous laboratory experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Ability to read, understand and implement instructions accurately is vital.
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
• Keen eye for detail.
• Possess excellent time management skills.
• Methodical in your approach.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis allocated in accordance with documented methodology.
• Follow all processes and procedures to maximise role efficiency.
• Conduct daily quality control checks and calibrations of equipment.
• Ensure your workstation is always clean and tidy.
• To conform with all site Quality Management systems and Health and safety procedures and protocols.
• To keep accurate records.
