Job summary

South East Water is seeking a Microbiology Analyst to perform routine microbiological testing and data interpretation in line with our Laboratory Management System (LMS).

You will work across Microbiology and Cryptosporidium sections, maintain equipment, log data accurately, and deliver reliable testing for South East Water and commercial clients. The role operates on a 4-on/4-off shift pattern (16:00–03:00).

Qualifications

• Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
• Good laboratory practice and robust analytical approach.
• Willing to work towards full membership of a professional body.

Responsibilities

• Operate instrumentation and perform analyses per LMS.
• Assist maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Analyse and interpret data and complete laboratory paperwork.
• Maintain daily logs and equipment records.
• Enter data into the LIMS within set timeframes.
• Ensure sample stability and turnaround targets are met.
• Prepare standards, reagents and QC samples per internal procedures.
• Pursue Continued Professional Development as required.
