Job summary

M Group Energy in Uxbridge is seeking Meter Readers for a temporary, ongoing contract. Shifts run Monday to Sunday, 8am–8pm, with training before fieldwork. You will plan routes, read meters (inside or outside properties) and ensure accurate readings while delivering great customer service.

You’ll operate independently each day with support from your Field Manager; access to a company van and fuel card for business use is provided. DBS check and 5 years of employment history are required.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence (not required in London).

Meter Reader - Uxbridge

We are looking for Meter Readers for our client based in Uxbridge.

This is a temporary contract but will be ongoing.

Shifts: Hours available between Monday to Sunday, 8am to 8pm

We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.

This role will be within our Metering team. You’ll join the leading provider of metering services in the UK energy retail sector. We provide efficient and flexible services for gas, electricity and water meters.

Our Meter Readers install, maintain and manage meters to make sure customers are billed correctly and energy usage patterns are monitored.

What will you be doing?

Initially, you’ll take part in our structured training programme before moving out into the field.

You’ll start your day by signing into your handheld device and planning your route. Meters can be located inside or outside properties, so you’ll need to choose what time you’re more likely to gain access to an inside meter.

You’ll spend your day walking or driving (depending on the area you cover) from property to property, always ensuring your own safety and the safety of customers.

Once you arrive, you’ll read the meters and record the information accurately, dealing with members of the public and providing excellent customer service.

You’ll work on your own, quickly and efficiently, in an independent role, always with the support of your Field Manager and the wider Metering team.

What you’ll bring

• You’ll be self-motivated and energetic, ideally (but not essentially) from a background where you are used to driving, managing appointments and working outdoors.
• A full UK driving licence (not required in London)
• Ability to work to timescales and under pressure
• Ability to walk for several miles every day
• You must be able to pass our screening and vetting standards, provide 5 years’ employment history and pass a DBS check
