Job summary

Morson Human Resources Limited is recruiting for Meter Readers to cover the MK40-45 area. This outdoor, flexible role focuses on reliable customer service while you read meters on a daily route using a handheld device.

Ideal candidates are self-motivated, with the ability to manage appointments and work outdoors. You must pass screening and provide a 5-year work history with a DBS check; London does not require a driving licence.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence (Not required in London).
• Customer Service experience (No minimum requirement).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to walk for several miles every day.
• Pass screening and vetting standards including 5 years employment history and DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Sign into handheld device and start route planning.
• Read meters and record readings accurately on handheld device.
• Provide first-class customer service to each property visit.
• Work independently, outdoors, in all weather conditions.
• Maintain safety for self and customers throughout visits.

We are recruiting for some Meter Readers in the MK40-45 areas, with the ideal candidate having great customer service.

About the role…

Do you like working in an active outdoor role? Do you want to take control of your schedule and work flexibly? If the answer is yes, then this could be the role for you.

What does an average day look like?

Initially you join our training environment before moving out into the field. Start your day by signing into your handheld device so you’re ready for the day ahead. Your day will begin with you planning your route. Meters can be inside or outside properties, so you’ll need to decide what time you’re more likely to gain access to an inside meter. You’ll spend your day walking or driving (depending on the area you cover) from property to property, always ensuring your own and customers’ safety.

Once you arrive, you’ll read the meters and record the information accurately on a state-of-the-art handheld device. This will be done whilst delivering first class customer service to every property you visit. You work on your own and will have the motivation to work quickly and efficiently in an independent role. Come rain or shine you’ll brave the elements to get the job done.

About you…

You will be self-motivated and energetic, ideally from a background where you are used to driving / managing appointments and working outdoors, but this is not essential.

Salary: £12.60 p/h + company van + expenses + bonus
